Krew wants to make his debut!

Our little guy is quite anxious to come and meet everyone! He's been trying to force him self out...haha. He must be bored! On Wednesday - I went to the doctor because I had been having cramps and back pain, so he checked me and concluded that my cervix was soft and his head was WAY down :) Over the last few days the back pain had gotten worse, so I of course freaked (I mean how the heck am I supposed to know I'm in labor!? Everyone says different things...haha - my worst fear is I'll get to the hospital and not be able to get an epidural) - Anyways, so we decided to make a trip to the hospital today. Turns out I am NOT crazy, and it's a good thing that I went in. Little Krew has progressed - I was dilated to a 2. They put me on some medication to slow down the contractions and hopefully allow Krew to bake for at least another 2 weeks :) I'm getting quite anxious to meet our little guy...but he needs to be patient ;)

(Michael got a little bored waiting...but was such a great and supportive husband!)

I'm sure he's just SO excited to meet all of his cousins that will be in town next week. We sure can't wait for everyone to get here so we can get this party started! I probably won't be much fun because I'm supposed to "take it easy" BUT we can still party!

Oh P.S. - wanted to let my mom, dad, and little brother know how much I love them and how much I appreciate all they do for us <3

Fall 2010

I first must say that I love completely love Fall - especially Halloween :) Michael and I got invited to his cousin Ty's party...so we had to find some costumes. That is when the challenge began - I soon figured out that it's NOT as easy to find a Halloween costume when you are 8 months pregnant, but luckily I found one last minute!

Yes, I was a woopie cushion! Haha.

And my lovely husband decided to be "Billy Mays" - the Oxy Clean guy :) It was quite hilarious!

Billy Mays and a Woopie Cushion - I'm pretty sure you couldn't ask for a better couple than that!?

I wanted to add one last thing! My mom's friend Brigitte custom painted this picture to match Krew's nursery. We absolutely LOVE it - she did such an amazing job! We are all ready for him to come, only 7 more weeks! <3

32 Week Updates

I'm starting to get the hang of this "blogging" thing. I think it will be great tool to have to look back on my pregnancy! Too bad I didn't do a good job of the weeks up to 32 haha. Oh well! Yes, I am 32 weeks now - it's getting so unbelievably close. Here's a quick summary of what the Doc had to say:

- Krew is head down and should stay that way. What a relief!
- He is exactly the way I thought he was laying - head down, butt on the right side, and little feet up in my left rib cage! I can definitely say I will not miss that :)
- Dr. Baker predicted he will be about 7lbs - another relief! I don't have to push out a 9 pounder
- His heart beat is strong
- Overall, an awesome day at the doctors!

Some of the things I am looking forward to:
- Being a mommy! I absolutely cannot wait
- Michael becoming a daddy
- Starting our own little Simpson family
- Meeting my little guy
- FINALLY seeing what he looks like
- Of course holding him, squeezing him, kissing him, loving him, putting my finger in this hand, and so so so many more things!
- Taking him home to VA to meet his family
- Not being pregnant :) I've heard I will miss it - but I think I'm ready to be un-pregnant haha

I love my family and can't wait for Krew to become a part of it...(not that he isn't already) ;)

Krew's Nursery...A work in progress :)

SOOO I went a little crazy with decorating Krew's nursery. I couldn't quite find anything that I was in love with - so my friend Char had the brilliant idea of us going to the fabric store! And so the madness began - I fell in LOVE with this animal print black and white fabric (the only problem...we would have to make it all!). The other problem? I don't quite know how to sew, haha. Char is making the bedskirt, and my grandma made the bumper! She is also making the curtain.  I think it's coming along great and we have had such a fun time putting it all together. Like I said, please excuse the mess - it's a work in progress!

My Grandma Foutz is amazing and made Krew's bumper!

When I was in Arizona - my sister-in-law's and I had a craft day - I made these letters for Krew :)

Michael and I refinished these two dressers. They turned out great and match perfectly in the nursery! The one above is the changing table :)

The picture doesn't quite do it justice - but my latest project was this mobile! It was so fun and easy to make...(not to mention, pretty cheap!)

Oh and may I add - I have an amazing husband who has helped me with all of these projects. He's so thoughtful to put up with me and my pregnant craziness <3 HIM!

I will post pictures here in a few weeks of the finished nursery! We still only have a few minor things left to get it completely ready - and boy is that a stress reliever! Let's just hope Krew doesn't make a surprise visit before we are ready :)

Baby Updates!

Yes, I am horrible at blogging. I am hoping that once Krew comes I will be a little more on the ball (who am I kidding!? I'll be more busy than ever)! I just got back from Virginia where I had an amazing baby shower. My family and friends were so great to come and support me. I am almost 32 weeks pregnant...yay! Only 8 more to go (if he's on time...which he better be!). He's measuring a week big and doing fantastic. While in Virginia my awesome friend Lauren and I decided to be silly and take some maternity pictures. Here are a few, I think they turned out great!

Thanks Lauren!

Arizona Trip!

We helped Michael's brother (Jordan) and wife (Sadie) move to Arizona - It was such a BLAST! Ok so I know moving doesn't sound like a "blast", but when you have amazing brother and sister in laws in Arizona, that changes everything! Jen, Isac, and Tyce were so nice to let us crash at their place for almost 2 weeks. The 2 weeks FLEW by! We did so much while we were there - shopping several times, eating out, a late night Cheesecake Factory run, and a sassy table shopping experience were only some of the things that happened on the trip!

We of course had to hit up the famous In-N-Out burgers - it was very satifsying :)

So I'm SURE you are interested to hear about this "sassy" table shopping experience...

This is the table that Sadie found for a great deal may I add! But this table wasn't just something we just stumbled upon, it took hard work to find it. Jen, Sadie, and I went to several furniture stores before we finally found "the one" (pictured above). We had a lady convince us to buy a table - the price was right, it looked perfect! We were so excited when we first saw it....then we noticed there were several dents on the table top, as well as unsturdy chairs. The saleswoman was SUPER determined and tried to convince is that she had a black permanent marker in the back to fix the "dings" and all of the "minor" dings were something that could easily be fixed with buying some fancy placemats. Sadie and I quickly got sassy with the lady. I quote: Sadie: "I am not buying a table I have to buy placemats for", Me: "It's hard buying a table that already has DINGS in it"....haha. Although we was willing to knock off a whopping $20 - needless to say, Sadie did NOT purchase that table :) We waited to find the table of her dreams, sold to us by "Rocko" :)

The point of that story really wasn't to tell you about Sadie's table - but rather how much fun the girls had that day! That trip incorporated the word "sassy" into almost every conversation for the rest of the trip! Good times :)

We spent some much needed time by the pool, I was so happy to get a little bit of a tan! I've been a white ghost since I found out I was prego....
This trip could not have been described without mentioning the "building bridges game". Oh man! Our husbands surely became obcessed with this game! We had to give them time limits :) So if you are a wife, and want to interact with your husband, DO NOT let him discover this game :) haha

That was our trip in a nutshell! I'm sure several things were left out, but the key highlights were definitely mentioned! Love you guys <3 and miss all of you that are in AZ! As well as the Peterson family in Washington. Can't wait for Thanksgiving when we are ALL together!

It's a BOY!

Ok, so I'm at little late posting this (not to mention I am new at blogging) - but YES, we are having a cute little boy! We are so exciting and absolutely cannot wait to meet him! I am almost 22 weeks - I hear it goes by pretty fast from this point on...so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Michael and I were both of course super excited to find out it was a boy (I think Michael just a LITTLE bit more than me because he is excited to transform our little guy into an athletic person like himself :) If the kicking in my stomach is any indication - then we definitely have an active little boy! For all of you who don't know, I am due December 20, 2010 - we have decided on a name, Krew Michael Simpson! I love it and can't wait to meet him!

Our handsome little Krew! <3 him!

1 Year Anniversary!

For our one year anniversary we decided to get away for the weekend! It's always nice to get away for a few days - especially from our hectic school schedules. Michael's friend Jason was getting married on June 26th, so we went to their sealing. It was such an awesome experience to be back in the temple on the exact same day we got married! The trip went by way to fast - but definitely had some fun highlights throughout the weekend :)

Jason and Jan got married in the Draper Temple - it was so pretty! :) Congrats guy!

Sometimes GPS's are fantastic - in fact most of the time....but there are those times in which they take you to the middle of no-where, with road blocks...etc. Does this look like Chick-fil-a to you? :)

Shopping and Tucano's - Could it get any better? Dinner at Tucano's was soooo delicious (minus the minor detail of the waitress spilling an entire glass of water on me) haha I wasn't going to let it ruin our night! We rounded up our trip to Utah with a stop at 711 for a Slurpee and Krispy Kreme for some fresh donuts :) Sounds like a great weekend to me! I Love You Michae.
